Ratha Yatra is top most festival in the Odisha from the all other festival in the twelve month. Some peoples are called Ghosha Yatra, Gundicha Yatra, and Navadina Yatra to this Ratha Yatra. This Ratha Yatra starts in the day from "Akhya Tritiya". There is used Saal, Neem, silk cotton, palm woods for the making of Ratha, and it take the responsibility for making it by experience carpenter. Before the starting of making Ratha, "Agnyamala " comes from lord Jagannata for this work. And lord Jagannatha comes for playing "chapa" in Chandan Yatra. Lord jagannatha alive statue becomes  Madanmohn in that time.
After Agnyamala comes by the priest, then it start the Ratha Yard with the offering, prayer and hymn. With this the coconut breaks over the wood and get starting of making Ratha by first hit over the wood in new axe , then Ratha making starts after that.
After the finish of making Ratha, it brings at the 'Singhadwara'. In the morning of gundicha, it is inaugurate by temple priest with the tradition style of temple. Then first Sudarshana, Baldev, Subhadra and jagannatha in last comes to Rattha in Pahandi. At the time of pahandi, lord jagannath wear a cap over his head is called "Tahia" This Tahia is given by "Raghav Das Matha". After three lords comes st the Ratha then the king of Puri comes as a sweeper of the Ratha with the invitation. And after the king back it opens the " Charmala " from the front of the Ratha.

There are four horse in each Ratha. 

The name of four black horse of  Lord Baldev is Tibra, Ghosha, Dirghasrama and swarnanabha. 
The name of four white horse of  Lord Jagannatha is Shankha, Balahaka, Sweta, Haridwasha.
The name of the red horse Devi Subhadra is Rochika, Mochika, Jita and Aparjita.


Lord Baldev's Ratha is first pulled by the people with bell, drums and haribol sound, then Devi Subhadra, and then at last Jagannatha's Ratha is pulled. There are varius type of hymn group are available to take the Ratha with dance. This festival also celebrate in the world wide where people of Odisha leaves. Before the evening the pulling of Ratha is finished, then all three lord's are back to the temple.

Balipatana, 15.07.2018 :-               It is really shocking and sad news for all of balipatana person that a savior unexpected death has been occur in the date of 13 July 2018 in the early morning at 8.00 pm in the house of Rabi Behera and the death is happen with his younger son "Bidyadhara Behera (Agandu,Pinku)", who was study in Kendrapara autonomous college in 2nd year science. Another two brother Sudhakar Behera (Gandua), Ratnakar Behera (Naga), is live in Qatar. And the death is happened by suicide in his own house when he was coming for the college vacation to the house. In the date of 13 July 2018 morning Bidyadhara Behera (Agandu,Pinku) was chat over phone with someone. This is the Ratha Yatra that which is celebrating in our village Balipatna with the help of balipatana peoples. And Balipatana Ratha is make by the professional carpenter of village balipatana and after the making of ratha it is decorated with the cover of red cloth over it. After the decorate Ratha, the lord Jagannatha,Baladev and Devi Subhadra is comes to ratha by the priest of Ratha and then priest starts the pooja of of three lords and then starts the pulling of ratha by the people of balipatana in entire balipatana area.
